David S. Shapiro, Ph.D. is a Psychologist (License # PSY 17495) in private practice in Orange County and Beverly Hills, where he provides high quality psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Dr. Shapiro also integrates clinical hypnosis and advanced technology based solutions to enrich treatment plans and improve clinical outcomes. Dr. Shapiro earned his Ph.D. from the APA Accredited Counseling Psychology Training Program at the University of Texas at Austin, and also holds an M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. He completed the APA Approved Psychology Internship at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA, and has worked within a variety of governmental and private sector clinical positions. Dr. Shapiro served as a Court Employed Evaluator with Superior Court of the State of California, County of Riverside, a Psychologist I with Riverside County's Children's Mental Health, and was an Associate Correctional Psychologist with the Texas Youth Commission. Prior to forming his present practice, Dr. Shapiro worked as a Staff Psychologist for a large group practice in Irvine, CA.
In his current individual private practice, Dr. Shapiro works with adults, teens, and children. Doctor Shapiro accepts most PPO insurances. He is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the Orange County Psychological Association. Dr. Shapiro the current Chair of the Professional Practice Committee of the Orange County Psychological Association, for which he also serves as Member of the Board of Directors. Another interesting fact is that Dr. Shapiro is the Host of a popular talk radio show called Late Night Breakthrough on 97.1 FM, KLSX at 1 AM on Saturday Mornings.
